for special-interest stories in feature pages, as well as front-page
design and special section design for news and sports.

Served
as head of two newspaper graphics departments:Graphics Editor of The
Victoria Advocate and Senior Designer/Graphics Editor for the Fort
Worth Star-Telegram’s Arlington office. Working with editors
and reporters, I have created graphics ranging from the mundane to
the very involved, often working under tight deadlines.

for copy editing in news, features and sports desks at The Monitor,
the Arlington Metro section at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram
and the Arlington Sports section at The Dallas Morning News.
Copy editing responsibilities included rimming and slotting metro
copy daily, writing headlines and cutlines, as well as editing and
rewriting copy. I participated in daily editorial planning meetings.
